Generally speaking, the greater the viscosity of the lubricating oil or the smaller the taper of the grease, the stronger the carrying capacity of the oil film, but in the case of heavy loads, vibration and shock, it is also required that the oily and extreme pressure properties of the lubricating grease are better.

Grease should be used as much as possible for parts that work for a long time and are not easy to change oil or refuel frequently, or parts that are not easy to seal; high-viscosity lubricants or greases should be used for friction surfaces in vertical or non-horizontal directions; grease should be preferred for open gear transmission with rough friction surfaces.For places that are not suitable for the use of lubricating grease, such as excessive load or severe shock and vibration, a wide operating temperature range or high to low, low relative movement speed and the need to reduce the phenomenon of “crawling”, vacuum or strong radiation, etc. Under these special conditions, it is more suitable to use solid lubricating materials.Experience in recent years has proved that solid lubricating materials can be used instead of lubricating greases in many equipment, and better lubrication results can be achieved.

Friction pairs working under high temperature conditions should choose lubricants with high viscosity and high flash point, or greases with small taper penetration and high drop point. At the same time, the extreme pressure resistance and thermal oxidation resistance of the grease should also be considered. Stability.For lubricants that work at low temperatures, choose lubricants with a condensation point lower than the operating temperature of about 10℃.
